Just south of India lies the tropical paradise of Sri Lanka.
Often referred to as as“ The Original Paradise”
Sri Lanka is a diverse land with an amazing blend of golden beaches, historic temples and sites, Rivers, lakes and waterfalls and wild life.
Miles of unspoiled palm –fringed beaches edge it’s coast line, with history that dates back thousands of years and UNESCO World Heritage Sites littering it’s interior, these are sites that must not be missed if visiting Sri Lanka.

Then, there are the National parks that are teaming with wild life, including hundreds of elephants and the world’s most dense population of leopards in Yala, while boat trips from the beach resorts of the south revel turtles, dolphins and whales.

Going back to history the ancient cities such as Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapur, and Mihintale are worth a visit while the mountain monastery where Buddhism was first introduced to the island in 247 BC is a most. Kandy is the home of the temple of the tooth.

Almost forgot, a visit to Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage is a must to watch them being fed and bathed. You can also join in and help bathe them.
As someone who has been there and seen all the above mentioned sites , I would say, Sri Lanka is not only a fascinating and interesting place to go visit but it also offers great value for money.
While we are talking about value for money, Sri Lanka is a great place to get married. I have seen weddings, organised a number and been a guest at one.

Sri Lanka is in an ideal location to create a twin centre holiday with a second week in the Maldives.

Colombo is only 1 hour flying time to Male the capital of the Maldives.
