We set off in the wind and rain to attend the Travel Alaska Roadshow. After a short rail journey from Wakefield Westgate to Leeds station we made our way in search of the roadshow, after getting slightly lost in the dark, cold streets of Leeds we eventually stumbled on the event, which was just across from the train station! We entered the hotel looking rather wind swept due the adverse weather outside. The event kicked of with welcome drinks & nibbles, allowing a little time for us all to dry out. The team welcomed to the event and we listen to a short speech from Jesse (Alaska development specialist). We then moved on to a speed dating format, were we spent 10 minutes at each suppliers table listening to their information, this was very interesting and you felt like you was getting a real picture of what Alaska has to offer you…
Did you know, Anchorage alone has more than 2,000 Moose? The Average temperatures in Anchorage in Jul/Aug are 18 degrees!
Fairbanks is the Heart of Alaska, Denali National Park is four hour by rail from Fairbanks. Fairbanks is one of the best places to see Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)
Overall the Roadshow was a huge success!
